I purchased the Pandora's Box Lottie doll because she had a really cute cat hat, as well as an adorable outfit, overall. I thought I'd see what these dolls were all about finally!Lottie dolls are indeed smaller than your typical 11 1/2" dolls like Barbie and similar fashion doll lines, but there are many good reasons why I think Lottie dolls are worth it:1. The doll feels well made. The legs are similar to the old school barbie doll legs that snap to bend - it works very well and it was nice to see that sturdy material being used again on a doll. The plastics used are definitely nicer than I thought, considering so many dolls at this similar price nowadays don't anymore and feel much cheaper.2. The clothes! I LOVE the clothing. It's actually made of fabric and not that plastic/papery material so many dolls get now. It may sound strange to be happy about clothing "made of cloth", but it's definitely a rarity. It's also nice to see separate layers (a jacket, hat, dress, tights, and rubber wellington boots) which all feel very soft and nicely stitched. There are even little buttons and pockets sewn into the coat, rather than just being printed on.3. The themes of the different dolls are great and I really like the different activities each doll is themed after. This particular Lottie doll volunteers at an animal shelter and she's dressed well for the part!Lottie dolls are just adorable and have a wide variety of interests/themes that kids can relate to. They do have a different vibe than the mainstream fashion dolls out there, so keep that in mind - as well as the shorter height of these dolls.Overall I was impressed with the doll for the price point. Even though she is smaller, I definitely feel like she is better made with way more thought put into doll and clothing details. The quality reminds me that of what I played with as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s.Oh, and I have to also say the packaging is so so cute - you'll want to save the box!Pandora's Box Lottie doll is very cute with a pretty outfit. The quality of the clothing is comparable to other fashion dolls, although I would say that the material used is perhaps a little nicer than average. I'm not a huge fan of the detachable Velcro patches that some Lottie dolls come with on their clothing, and my daughter is confused by them since none of her own clothing has this feature, but some children may enjoy swapping the patches. The boots are pretty and can be worn with or without the tights. The tights themselves are a little tricky for my three year old to put on and she will usually ask me to help with this part (or just leave them off). The sleeves on the dress are cut well and, unlike some of the longer sleeved items in clothing sets, the dolls thumbs do not get stuck in the sleeves of the dress when dressing her. The coat is very nicely made and is lined, the only issue would be that the dolls thumbs often get stuck at the cuff when dressing and this can be frustrating for my child - I think that an older child would have few issues in this regard though.Overall I really like this doll and my daughter enjoys playing with her. The doll can stand well on any solid relatively smooth surface and can bend at the knee (for example, she stands on the table but not on the carpeted floor). My daughter likes the fact that the doll has a belly button and is flat chested. The arms do not bend at the elbow but they do have a good range of movement. The head turns from side to side but does not tilt up or down. The hair is well-rooted and smooths easily after being played with and really doesn't seem to tangle :)I will add that the skin tone of the doll is lighter than it may appear in some of the photos and that was slightly disappointing to me. I'm given to understand that the Fossil Hunter Lottie doll might have the skin tone that I was hoping for with this doll.I think that there needs to be more of these dolls! It is so wonderful to have a high quality doll that is conservative in play appropriate for little girls. My two girls have been thrilled with their dolls. I had an issue and contacted customer service and they resolved it immediately I highly recommend and we'll be buying againI love this Lottie Doll in theory. It's the third Lottie Doll I've purchased. Most of the clothes are great. The hat, as with other Lotties with hats I've tried, doesn't stay on mega well. Fine for display, sucks for play. This one also has the additional issue of her glasses. They're strapped on with a rubber band over the top of her hair which bothered my OCD like you will NOT believe. I -had- to take them off, try to lift layers of her hair, and put them back on. It was a huge fuss. This particular doll also had the small issue of her hair having been accidentally crimped into an odd part while in the packaging and so she tends to a bald spot. That's cool, plenty of rad people in this world have bald spots. But... Yeah. OCD. Makes me have a little eye twitch.Overall Lottie is leaps and bounds over other play dolls. I wish her limbs were jointed, but they're still adorable. Despite my issues with this particular doll, it's still cute and functional enough that she gets a high rating. My daughter loves these dolls, and we have a ridiculous amount of them now. The dolls themselves are great, and I love the principle behind them. However, the quality of the clothing is disappointing. The dress that this one comes with has ripped down both sides, and several items from other dolls have developed holes or rips too. My daughter likes to swap the clothes around frequently, but she isn't rough with them and I do feel doll clothes should be able to withstand such use, especially at this price. This is one of the only dolls I have got and I really like playing with it. I like it because it's not gender stereotyped and also my brother who is 8 likes it too which is why he is getting a boy Lottie Doll (Finn). The boy dolls are really calm and not rough and the girls have lots of cool outfits like astronaut, activist etc. My mama also likes it too.I love the idea of these and bought two for each daughter. They look really lovely. Just a little bit smaller than I expected - but I guess they are girls not women. I thought they would be about Barbie size, and they are a couple of inches shorter. Packaging is cute. Don't know how robust the dolls are till Christmas day.But the ethos behind them is lovely. Am hoping they will be a hit so we can collect more. This is the third Lottie doll I have bought for various nieces'/grandchildren. They are lovely dolls and the clothes too are well-made. They are a good role model for children and infinitely preferable to the strangely-proportioned Barbies etc. I am delighted with my purchase. It would be nice to have more (and affordable) accessories for Lottie as some of them are very pricey.Lovely doll. My daughter all ready owns the fossil hunter doll so we brought this one for a different one to play with. The clothes are well made. My daughter dosent like the fashion dolls on the market but loves lottie, every little girl should own one.
